Our October Chapter Meeting will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of Sixth and Locust Streets, in Columbia, on October 11 at 7 p.m. Member Randy Rudy will host us as we enjoy their 3-manual, 41 rank, Pels organ from the Netherlands. The theme is American Contemporary Composers and we are seeking members who are willing to play one of their favorite organ 3 compositions by 20th and 21st century American composers such as Manz, Wood, Young, Ferguson, Diemer, and Lovelace to name a few.

We have composers within our chapter and it would be a delight to hear their music! Does this strike a chord with you? What piece comes to mind as you read this? Are you willing to share this with others? Contact Pat Bleecker (pbleecker@dejazzd.com) or 285-7625. Your selection does not need to be the showpiece of the century – rather, something that your colleagues could use in their services.

We desire to highlight American composers and to inspire others to learn a new piece. Pat aims to have the program formulated by mid-September – respond SOON!
